The job of a quality assurance analyst is to closely monitor products and materials to guarantee that there are no defects and also that products are made to company standard. It is their duty to ensure that quality products leave the manufacturer on the way to the consumer. QA analysts are found in various fields, ranging from the manufacturing industry to transportation.
They oversee blueprints, product plans and use specialized inspection equipment such as gauges, calipers, and voltmeters to measure the quality of a particular product and ensure that it reaches the intended company standard.
When substandard items are detected, QA analysts will reject such a piece and makes notes to ensure that such defects are corrected and also avoided in future productions. - INTEGRITY: A quality assurance manager must be an individual who would not compromise the standard of products by cutting corners in the production process to either safe cost or time.
- KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRODUCT: The QA analyst must possess vast knowledge on every product he manufactures. He must know the standard of every raw material used in the manufacturing process and be able to differentiate between standard and substandard materials.
- DEXTERITY: QA analysts need to be able to manipulate materials with his hands and take apart sample items to make sure they work properly and efficiently.
- MATHS: Basic math and computer knowledge are needed when analyzing, calibrating or measuring materials.
- MECHANICAL SKILLS: QA analysts use specialized tools and materials when analyzing the object. So a QA must have the ability to control testing equipment and other specialized tools.
- Technical Skills: QA analyst may have to read blueprints, understand voltmeters, technical drawings, manuals and other materials in the QA process.
- PHYSICAL FITNESS: A QA has to be physically fit as they work for lots of hours on their feet, and they used a lot of heavy equipment in testing products.
- EFFICIENCY: A quality assurance analyst must be efficient in his calculations and testings in other to avoid the production of substandard goods. Efficiency is necessary as the nod of the QA analyst would give the assurance that a product is up to standard and ready for the market.
